Red or Blue? Party Quiz
Effective date: November 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Red or Blue? Party Quiz app ("the App") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is published by Derrick Soltero, an individual developer ("I", "me", or "the developer"). The App's bundle ID is com.derricksoltero.redorblue.
Red or Blue? is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid for by any political party, campaign, candidate, or government agency.
The short version
- No accounts. You never sign up, and I never ask for your name, email, phone number, or contacts.
- Your game data stays on your phone. Scores, streaks, and stats are stored only on your device.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob collects device and ad data to show, measure, and protect ads. Personalized ads are shown only if you consent. Otherwise you see non-personalized ads.
- Pro removes ads. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. RevenueCat verifies them using an anonymous ID.
- No selling for money. I never sell your information for money. For personalized ads and your opt-out choices, see "Your US state privacy rights" below.
- The App is for ages 13 and up and is not directed to children under 13.
1. Information stored only on your device
These items never leave your device and are not sent to me:
- Scores, streaks, Daily Challenge results, and game stats
- App settings and preferences, including your ad-consent choice
- Your age range, if your device shares it (see Section 5)
Uninstalling the App deletes this data.
2. Information collected by service providers
a. Advertising: Google AdMob
The free version of the App shows banner ads and full-screen ads between rounds using Google AdMob (Google LLC). According to Google's disclosures, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- Device identifiers: your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking; AAID on Android), app set ID, and other app- or developer-scoped identifiers
- IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location (city or region, not precise location)
- Ad interactions: ads you have seen and tapped, app launches, taps, and video views
- Diagnostic data: crash logs and performance data such as app launch time, hang rate, and energy use
Google uses this information to deliver ads, measure ad performance (ad measurement), limit how often you see the same ad, analyze usage, and prevent fraud and abuse. Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Personalized ads only with your consent.
- On iOS: the App asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", the App does not access your IDFA and requests non-personalized ads only. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland: before ads load, the App shows a consent message from Google's User Messaging Platform (a certified consent management platform). You can accept, reject, or manage choices. You can change them at any time from Settings > Privacy Choices in the App.
- Everywhere else: non-personalized ads are shown unless you have consented to personalization. You can also opt out as described in Section 7.
Non-personalized ads are based on context, such as the App itself and your general location, rather than your history. Google may still use the data listed above to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud.
Teens and younger users. The App is rated 13+, and some players may be teenagers. I configure ads to follow Google's policies for this audience:
- Ad content is limited to Google's "Teen" rating or lower.
- When your device's age signal (Section 5) shows you are under 18, ad requests are tagged for teen treatment. Google then turns off personalized ads and remarketing and applies its Ad-serving Protections for Teens.
- If an age signal ever shows a user is under 13, the App requests child treatment. Google then turns off personalized ads, third-party ad measurement, and advertising identifiers.
- I also block ad categories that are inappropriate for teens or for a nonpartisan quiz, where AdMob's controls allow.
Pro removes ads. Subscribers to Red or Blue? Pro do not see ads, and AdMob is not used to request ads for them.
b. Purchases: Apple, Google, and RevenueCat
Paid packs and the Pro subscription are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment, and I never see your payment card or billing details.
The App uses RevenueCat, Inc. to validate purchases and unlock what you paid for. RevenueCat receives:
- A random, anonymous app user ID generated on your device
- Purchase receipts and transaction details, such as the product, price, currency, store country, and purchase and renewal dates
RevenueCat uses this to validate receipts, prevent fraud, manage subscription status, and give me aggregate sales reports. The anonymous ID is not linked to your name or email. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
c. Card updates: Supabase
Question cards are bundled in the App. The App may also check my server, hosted by Supabase, Inc., for new or corrected cards and the Daily Challenge. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and basic request details (such as app version and user agent) in the server's logs. I do not use this information to identify you, build a profile, or determine your location. Supabase keeps these logs for no more than 7 days. Supabase's privacy policy: https://supabase.com/privacy.
d. Sharing your results
When you tap Share, the App opens your device's standard share sheet. You decide where the share card goes, and I do not receive what you share or whom you share it with.
3. How information is used
Information is used only to:
- Run the game and deliver card updates
- Show, measure, and limit ads in the free version, and personalize them only with consent
- Validate purchases, restore them, and manage subscriptions
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security problems
- Fix crashes and improve performance
- Comply with law and app store rules
I do not use your information to infer or record your political opinions. Your guesses and scores are not sent to me, Google, or anyone else.
4. What I do not do
- I do not require or offer accounts, logins, or social sign-in.
- I do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location.
- I do not sell your information for money.
- I do not combine data across apps for tracking unless you allow it through ATT or another consent choice.
- The App has no chat, comments, or user-generated content.
5. Age signals
To help comply with app store and state age-assurance laws, the App may use Apple's Declared Age Range API or Google Play Age Signals. If your device or parent allows it, the App receives only an age range (for example, "13–15" or "18+") or an approval status, never your birthdate or ID. The App uses this on your device to apply teen ad protections and any required parental-approval steps. The age range is not sent to me.
6. Children's privacy (COPPA)
The App is rated 13+ and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If an age signal shows a user is under 13, ads are requested with child treatment, so there are no personalized ads, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party ad measurement. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, contact me at redorbluequiz@gmail.com and I will help delete it.
7. Your US state privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws)
Residents of California and other states with consumer privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and others) may have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected and how it is used and disclosed
- Access or get a copy of it
- Correct or delete it
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, targeted advertising, and profiling
- Not be discriminated against for using these rights
Sale and sharing. I do not sell personal information for money. When you consent to personalized ads, device identifiers and ad interaction data are disclosed to Google for cross-context behavioral advertising. Some state laws treat this as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". You can opt out at any time:
- In the App, go to Settings > Privacy Choices and turn off personalized ads. The App then requests only non-personalized ads and turns on Google's restricted data processing for US states.
- On iOS, set tracking to off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- On Android, delete or reset your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads.
I do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Categories collected in the last 12 months:
- Identifiers (advertising ID, anonymous app user ID, IP address)
- Commercial information (purchase history)
- Internet or network activity (ad interactions, app usage, diagnostics)
- Approximate geolocation inferred from IP address, by Google for ads
These come from your device and the services above. They are used for the purposes in Section 3 and disclosed to Google, RevenueCat, Supabase, Apple, and Google Play as described in this policy.
Making a request. Email redorbluequiz@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy Request". Because the App has no accounts, I hold very little that can be tied to you. For RevenueCat records, include your anonymous app user ID, shown in Settings > Support ID. I may need that ID to find your records. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission. If I deny your request, you may appeal by replying to my decision, and I will respond within 45 days.
8. Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR basics)
The controller for the App is Derrick Soltero, who can be contacted at redorbluequiz@gmail.com. Legal bases for processing:
- Consent: personalized ads and the storage of or access to device identifiers for advertising, collected through Google's consent message
- Contract: processing purchases and unlocking content you bought
- Legitimate interests: delivering card updates, non-personalized ads, security, fraud prevention, and fixing crashes
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your data. You may also restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time in Settings > Privacy Choices without affecting earlier processing. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where my service providers operate. Those providers use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
9. Data retention and deletion
- On your device: game data, settings, and age range stay until you uninstall the App. Uninstalling deletes them.
- Server logs (Supabase): no more than 7 days.
- Purchase records (RevenueCat, Apple, Google): kept as long as needed to provide your purchases and subscriptions and to meet tax and accounting rules. To request deletion of RevenueCat records, email me with your Support ID.
- Ad data (Google): retained under Google's policies. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off tracking at any time.
10. Security
All network traffic from the App uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but I limit what is collected so that little exists to protect in the first place.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I will update the effective date at the top and post the new version at this address. If a change materially affects how your information is used, such as new data types or new uses, I will also notify you in the App before it takes effect and ask for consent where required.
